Game Design - Core Loop

In the core loop the player is…
-
Constantly moving in the map towards the goal
-
Throwing their lasso to latch on to the different meteors as a way to control movement when desired
-
Rotating around the meteor to switch direction off travels and gain player control
-
Flinging off or releasing their lasso from the meteor when they believe they are at the desired angle for release or object collision (collection)

Level Design

-
Level zero (Tutorial) consists of a sequence of small box-like rooms the player progresses through as they are introduced to new skills and items.
-
Level one is a large square with walls dividing off the area into different but non-distinct branches that seamlessly connect with each other.
-
Level two is built around a single large curve, guiding player flow while increasing spatial complexity, introducing spiked walls as a new environmental hazard.
-
Level three is divided into 4 major sections, with tighter spaces defined by vertical barriers and spiked walls.
-
Level four features multiple curves and distinct sections, creating the most complex and varied layout in the game.

Ranking System

To encourage replayability, we designed a ranking system that evaluates player performance after each level is completed. The system tracks key gameplay metrics such as completion time and total rewards collected, allowing players to clearly understand how well they performed and motivating them to replay the level.
