HI THERE!

I’m Jiawen Zhang, a level designer with a Master’s degree in Game Development from SMU Guildhall.
I like building spaces that make players curious — a hallway that feels a little too long, a shortcut that rewards attention, or a combat setup that makes players stop and think, “Okay… what’s the plan?”
My work includes narrative quests, stealth levels, psychological horror, puzzle spaces, and racing tracks. I’m especially interested in player flow, environmental storytelling, and how level design can quietly guide players without making it feel forced.
When I’m not building games...
-
I’m probably out exploring with my dog. Yes, I’m absolutely a dog person.
-
I’ll watch almost any kind of movie, but horror is always my go-to.
-
My ideal weekend? Staying in, drinking boba, watching a good show, and eating snacks.
I love building keyboards piece by piece — switches, keycaps, layouts, all of it.
Ever need keyboard advice?I’m your person!

Handmade Things!
I enjoy making things with my hands.
Clothes, tufted rugs, pottery, PC builds — I like turning random ideas into things I can actually hold.
There’s something really satisfying about watching an idea become real.
Adventures
Wherever I go, I’m always capturing those little moments.

Skiing, horseback riding, hiking — Whatever gets me outside, I’m in.
Skydiving is still on my bucket list... maybe one day!
